Dr. Daniel Stamos DDS, MS- Endodontist in Kansas City

Dr. Stamos is a native Iowan, but moved to Independence, Missouri, shortly after the Kansas City Chiefs won their only NFL Championship in 1969.  He attended and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1979 with an undergraduate degree in Biology and was awarded the Department of Biology’s Distinguished Student Award.  Dr. Stamos continued his post graduate studies at UMKC School of Dentistry where he graduated in 1983.  He earned his Certificate in Endodontics and Masters Degree in Oral Biology from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1985.  While there he was the primary author of several articles published in the Wisconsin Dental Journal and Journal of Endodontics.

  In 1988, Dr. Stamos became the second Board Certified Endodontist in Kansas City.  He has been serving the Greater Kansas City and Northland area for more than 30 years.  Dr. Stamos has volunteered his time since 2007 as a part time adjunct Clinical Instructor in the Advanced Dental Education in Endodontics Program at UMKC and more recently at St. Louis University’s Center for Advanced Dental Education.

  Dr. Stamos has been recognized for his charitable financial contributions to the Rinehart Foundation at UMKC School of Dentistry.

  Dr. Stamos supports his profession thru membership in the following organizations:  American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Greater Kansas City Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists and the American Board of Endodontics.  Dr.  Stamos is a past president of the Kansas City Endodontic Study Club.
Dr. Stamos is the proud father of two young dentists.  A son who is attending Saint Louis University’s Center for Advanced Dental Education in Endodontics and a daughter at The Ohio State University enrolled in a General Practice Residency.  Upon completion next year she will join her brother in St. Louis in the same Advanced Dental Education Program in Endodontics. A very proud father indeed!

  Dr. Stamos is unique in that his identical twin brother is also a Board Certified Endodontist in Independence, Missouri, whose son recently joined his private endodontic practice.

Outside the office, Dr. Stamos enjoys time with his wife, vacationing, golf and wood working.  As anyone will tell you, he enjoys his two golden retreivers, Bently and Fenway, as they are the objects of many a story at work.
